Ugly Man Records was established in 1986 with the début release of Wonderful Life, by Liverpool band Black. During the next 26 years we have had the good fortune to release débuts by elbow, I am Kloot and Josephine Oniyama. We published football fanzines and books by Frank Sidebottom. We gave Jon Ronson his first proper job, and we have taken on multi-nationals and governments and won. But best of all, we are still here releasing great music.
2014 sees a new phase of activity. A rash of new talent is begging to be promoted and exposed to the wider public. Artists and musicians from all over the place will be recording and releasing material on Ugly Man. Prepare for the whirlwind.
